Arctic Helpers connects people in Iqaluit who need a hand with students who are free to help. We are a marketplace, not a company: you pay the student directly.

Service by service
Dog walking
- Book a first walk and we set up a free meeting so your dog, you and your walker get to know each other.
- After that, arrange a key or set times that suit you.
- Each walk is 30 minutes, and you can add time in 15-minute steps or bring along more dogs.
When: school days 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., weekends and holidays 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Babysitting
- Book at least 2 hours, in half-hour steps. Bookings end by 9 PM on school nights and by 11 PM on weekends and holidays.
- Once your booking is confirmed, you share your phone number and where you will be, and your sitter shares theirs and a parent's or guardian's contact.
- Please be home on time: a late return carries a penalty on top of the hourly rate.

- Choose the size of your home and tick any extras. You see the price and the time estimate before you book.
- Up to three students may come together to get it done faster. The price stays the same.
- The price is a flat rate, not hourly.
When: school days 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., weekends and holidays 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A parent, guardian or other responsible adult must be at the property for the whole clean, for the safety of everyone involved.

Snow clearing
- Book a first hour, and add time in 15-minute steps if there is a lot to clear.
- Up to two students may come together to get it done faster. The price stays the same.
- Tell us what needs clearing and where the snow can go.
When: school days 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., weekends and holidays 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Students clear snow by hand with shovels. They do not go up on roofs or use snowblowers.

- Describe the job and when you would like it done.
- An adult reads every request and sends you a quote.
- Accept the quote and we find students to help.
When: We agree on a time with you when we send the quote.

For parents, guardians and customers
- Every request is screened. An adult reads each request before any student sees it, and approves every student profile before it goes live.
- An adult at every house cleaning. A parent, guardian or other responsible adult is at the property for the whole clean, for everyone's safety.
- Dog walking starts with a meeting. The first step is a free meeting so you, your dog and your walker get to know each other.
- Babysitting ends by 11 PM. No booking runs past 11 PM, and contact details are exchanged only once a booking is confirmed.
- Contact stays on the site. Messages go through Arctic Helpers. Nobody's phone number or email is shown.
- A fair cancellation policy. Either side can cancel. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, a $25.00 fee applies.

Good questions
Can I pick a specific student?
Not yet. Students who are free say they can help and an adult organiser confirms who is coming, keeping the work fair across the group.
When can students work?
The students are in school, so on school days bookings start after school and end in the evening. On weekends, statutory holidays and school breaks the hours are longer. Each service above shows its exact hours, and the booking form checks the date you pick.
How do I pay?
Cash or Interac e-Transfer, directly to the student when the job is done. The site never takes payment.
How do I follow my request?
After you send a request you get a private status link by email. It shows where things are, who is coming, and lets you message your student or cancel.
I'm a student. Can I join?
Sign up as a student. An adult approves every profile before it goes live.
